After the great success of the 1st edition, from 21st to 22nd April 2018, Horse Country Resort will host the Sardinia Endurance Festival 2018 – the only Italian stage of the International circuit H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed At the Nahyan Endurance Festival – where the best pairs from the best known breedings and from the most prestigious stables of the world will challenge each other.
The event is organized by Horse Country Resort in collaboration with the Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival of the Emir Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and its Director Ms. Lara Sawaya.
The international races will start on Saturday 21st April 2018 with the 160km CEI3 *, the 120Km CEI2 *, the CEI2 * Ladies entirely dedicated to women who will compete for the H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Endurance Cup, the 120 km CEIY2 *, the 90 km CEI1 *.
On Sunday 22th April will be run all distances of the regional categories, from the 25km Debutants to the 90km CEN / B.
The event will conclude in the evening with the awards ceremony of the winners in the suggestive amphitheater of the Resort.
The route, judged by riders and experts as one of the most comfortable, enjoyable and safe in the international endurance scene, consists of 3 rings: red of 36 km, yellow and white of 25km each.
The competitions will start from the grass field of the Equestrian Center of the Horse Country Resort where the veterinary checks will take place.
The event will focus attention on the Sardinian horse that is increasingly under the international spotlight thanks to the excellence of our territory. Among the many we remember the many successes of the “breeding of Gallura” by Giovanna Picconi, the “breeding of the Ma” by Annateresa Vincentelli and the terralbese breeding of Antonio Pinna, as well as the knights (Andrea Atzeni, Mirko De Muro) coaches (Marco Sardo) and producers (Setzi Saddles) who contribute to making the Sardinian horse an international reality.
For this reason, during the days of the event there will be an exhibition of paintings and works by “Sardinian” artists, as well as the exhibition of choirs and dances of our land.
The setting up of an area dedicated to local artisanal productions (saddles, harnesses, ceramics, etc.) and agri-food will be on the side, so that the artisans and companies of our territory can have the opportunity to showcase the quality of exceptional and exclusively autochthonous products.
The structure also offers two sand fields (for heating and practice of the western and English riding) and a 6000 sqm covered field to mount all year round. Riders will find a pleasant and comfortable environment where they can relax to compete in the best conditions, as well as horses, which will have at their disposal the over-size boxes (4.25 x 4.25) to rest before and after the race.
